the first major quarter of 2007. tim pawlenty expected to bring in less than 5 million. jon huntsman raised a little over 2 million throwing his own money at 4 million. ron paul told supporters he's raised over $4 million. the number though everybody is watching what will the michele bachmann number be? she can transfer money from the house campaign. was she able to get in the internet and direct mail money in in time? will the number be forth of 5 million? will it be north of 10? that would be somewhat of a surprise. meanwhile, a siren for the supporters of rick perry, he's scouting out a vendor pot at the straw poll. it's our understanding perry won't get into the race until after he has the national day of prayer on august 6th. the straw poll is basically a week later. he wouldn't get in before then bupt the straw poll could be a way to see if that's the launching point and he gets in sometime in late august in time for those three debates that mitt romney and company are competing in in september. meanwhile, though there are no firm numbers yet, we're expecting a big quarter from

? >> jon, the big question is whether or not his defense attorneys will actually ask for this case and the charges to be dropped, and what the judge will say about that, or, if there's some other reason for them to meet. you know what, what we're learning is there are details that have come out about the accuser in this case, and her past, that even had the prosecution now asking questions about this woman. questions that this trial could hinge on, because she is their witness. the only way that they can really press sexual assault charges against dominic strauss-kahn is with her testimony, convincingly, so it has been said, by prosecutors up until now. will defense attorneys for dominic strauss-kahn then ask this judge to dismiss the charges based on the fact that the prosecution may or may not have enough evidence to go forward. we're watching this, that meeting is coming up, those manhattan prosecutors and defense lawyers, meeting in an office. as soon as we know what -- what has happened, we'll bring it to tower office. this is big news, this man lost his job behind the sexual assa

rather striking as well. tim pawlenty, 3%. jon huntsman, who has staked a lot of his campaign on winning new hampshire and had this big rollout th a lot of media coverage, only at 2% at this point. he is right there with herman cain and newt gingrich. surprising numbers there and very good numbers for mitt romney. we mentioned in that poll there, tim pawlenty, he also is not doing very well in that poll. he is hoping, obviously, to win iowa where is he staking all of his campaign and brought what is basically a pretty good political young gun on his squad, sarah huckabee sanders, the doubt of mike huckabee, who won the iowa caucuses back in 2008, she has joined his campaign. so you can say that tim pawlenty is looking for some huck luck. and sarah huckabee was a big part of the huckabee campaign and will be a big part of pawlenty's campaign. if pawlenty will do well in iowa, sarah huckabee will be a big bet to help him because right now, he needs all of the help he can get. >> jim acosta, thanks. your next political update in an hour. always get all of the political news 24/7 at cnn/poli

on one of the plans. abc's jon karl is on capitol hill with that. jon? >> reporter: diane, there is some real drama going on right now here in the house. they were supposed to be voting on john boehner's debt ceiling bill. that has been delayed. and if you look down that hallway, john boehner's office is right down there and he is s there, trying to get the votes he needs to pass his bill. he's not there yet. this is the bill that could increase the debt ceiling by about $900 billion, only about six months worth. because it would force the president to come back and go through this all over again. but what boehner is finding is that a lot of those tea party republicans don't want to vote for this. he has put his speakership on the line, saying that he cannot lead if they don't support him. so, the question now is, diane, will he get the votes to pass the republican plan? >> can he get his republicans in line? jon karl, standing by, watching it all. and, of course, while they battle it out on the hill, on capitol hill, there is a secret scramble behind the scenes at the white house t
